WebGIS Platform – Before & After Urban Transformation
This interactive WebGIS project showcases the historical layout of Mashhad in the year 1333 (1954) alongside its present-day urban structure. By allowing users to toggle between “then and now,” the platform highlights the city’s dramatic spatial, infrastructural, and social transformations over time. Layers include historical landmarks, old road networks, major urban changes, and georeferenced archival maps. This tool is designed to support historical urban studies, planning education, and civic engagement through a spatial lens.
